Dr Phil weighs in
Read some of what he said here.
On the one hand, I’m glad he said on national television that homeschooling was a good thing. On the other, I’d love to see this research he mentioned that said children needed to go to high school to be socialized.
And so they don’t do well in a home school environment in high school as they do socially in a public or private school.
Sorry, Phil, my kids beg to differ. And have you been to a regular high school lately?
I’m surprised that Dr. Phil has anything good to say about homeschooling at all. Of course, he is a man of “science” and I guess as long as that’s what the research says… (rolling eyes)
It’s ironic, isn’t it, that the dad is concerned about his child being sheltered and limited by homeschooling, when his own thinking has apparently been so limited by being schooled that he does not seem to be aware that things like parties, theatre, and sports can and do happen outside of the school setting. Talk about being sheltered from the real world.
