On Friday afternoon, I was offered a permanent position. I’ve stuck the word permanent in there because, it’s something I’ve never had. I was offered permanent positions 3 or 4 times in my career and had always turned them down. Even though I worked for one employer for 5 years, the longest term of employment I’ve had has been 1 year. Over a period of 8 years, the longest full-time contract I had was 3 months.
