Yet another adventure

Ron and I have been working on a top-secret project for the homeschooling community and we need some testers for feedback. It is a homeschooling weblog site powered by WordPress MultiUser, a branch of WP (kinda like WP Lite).

Features:
a chance to try out WordPress
your own subdomain
your choice of username
over 50 templates (and growing)
comment moderation & spam controls
invite your friends
archiving by category
options for greater functionality
importing and exporting content
integrated blogroll – can import current blogroll
multiple authors
site statistics
static pages (like an About page)
future posting
password protected posts
file uploading
trackbacks/pings

And did we mention this will be FREE? (Donations would be accepted but not required.) We are not affiliated with any business, publication, or association. There are NO ads. This site is not geared to any specfic kind of homeschooler, but ALL homeschoolers.

This is a private venture of ours. Because we are still in the testing phase, we have set membership to a limited number of invites. Please leave a comment if you would like to try it out.

  1. Clare says:

Ron mentioned this to me on a comment on my blog. I need to move soon as I’m getting spam comments so I’d be really interested…

  2. Jax says:

Will it support ppl wanting to put javascript type webrings on it? As Clare will need to ;)

  3. Andrea says:

    Yep. :)
    (for the curious onlookers)

  4. Spunky says:

    I’m curious.

  5. Theresa says:

I’d like to move my blog due to the child abuse problem. I am not all that computer savvy, so I am willing, but a little nervous. I switched blogsites once already (from blogspot due to so mant technical difficulties) and what a pain it was. Will I be able to easily move all my current and archived content? Will it take alot of time (I unfortunately am stuck with dial-up out here in the booneys)? Help?

  6. Carlotta says:

Great stuff, Theresa, for considering such a move. Hopefully will be able to link to your site, conscience-free, in the near future!

  7. Ooh, how exciting! I look forward to seeing how this develops. R & A, you guys are amazing.

  8. Good for you! I may even be interested. Will there be any kind of moderation on your end in terms of parenting philosophy that is endorsed? I don’t expect a complete lack of punishment or spanking. Just protection from the culture of abuse being embrace by more and more Christians.

  9. Nancy P. says:

I’m interested. Thanks for providing this opportunity!

  10. Any room for heffalumps?

  11. Doc says:

I’ve directed about 50 different bloggers here. I am not really in the market to move my blog, but I am sure willing to foot the cost of people willing to move from HSB. Where do I donate and what will the bandwidth be costing you?

  12. GailV says:

I’m interested, if there are still openings. But I wouldn’t want to crowd out any HSB refugees that need the space more than I do.

  13. I’m just getting back online after three weeks of ongoing computer problems, but I wanted to leave a note of appreciation for this project and all the really great work you two do for homeschoolers! If there’s anything I can do to assist your efforts (free advertising and promotions thru our far-flung networks?) just let me know!

  14. JoAnnE. says:

I am a current blogger at HSB and would like to move my blog. I am by no means a computer savy person so I have no idea how to move what I have there already. So if someone was willing to hold my hand so to speak I am up for making the move. Thanks

  15. Amy says:

I don’t know if I’m too late, but I would love to try this out! I have blogs on HSB that I’d like to move. I love what I’ve seen so far on your new site!

  16. Ann says:

I just started a blog at HSB and then found out what I’d stepped in! I’d love to give this a try instead.

  17. Lesa says:

I hope you still have room for one more. I recently moved my blog from HSB to blogger.com… but I don’t think I want to stay there permanently. I was hoping and praying that I would find another homeschool community blogger to blog on.

    Lesa

  18. Keer says:

I am potentially interested as well. Would we be able to “tweak” the templates? I’ve been looking for something with category features. But I too wouldn’t want to crowd out any HSB refugees, so I’m OK if there’s not room enough for me. :-)

  19. Keer says:

Oh, and would we be limited to the things we could blog about?
