Interesting quote
Visual-spatial learners are individuals who think in pictures rather than words… They learn all-at-once, and when the light bulb goes on, the learning is permanent. They do not learn from repetition and drill. They are whole-part learners that need to see the big picture first before they learn the details. They are non-sequential, which means they do not learn in the manner in which most teachers teach…They are systems thinkers who can orchestrate large amounts of information from different domains, but they often miss the details. They tend to be organizationally impaired and unconscious about time. – Guerrilla Learning
How many readers think they might have a visual spatial learner on their hands? I happen to be both this and tactile.
Me! Me! My 9 year old is definitely one. Realizing this fact has made a HUGE difference in how I approach things with Jason and you would not believe how much of an improvement it has made.
I have a page of v-s (or right-brained) resources on my blog for learning about this learning style:
http://throwingmarshmallows.homeschooljournal.net/r-b-resources/
And you can read stories about how my v-s learner learns by clicking on the R-b/V-s Learners category.
Being very left brained I find the whole v-s thing fascinating. And I have been learning a lot about how I learn as well (mainly because it is the complete opposite of how Jason learns!).
Cindy over at http://applestars.homeschooljournal.net was the one who pointed me in the right direction…she has several v-s learners and is very passionate about the learning style.
Fascinating stuff!

Some of that seems to describe me but other parts don’t. Hmmm. Must check out those links of Stephanie’s. I love coming over here. I very often learn something useful or at least interesting.
